Day 1 - Arrive Auckland airport transfer to your accommodation
Explore Auckland, a harbourside city known as the 'City of Sails'.
Take a boat cruise and head out on the harbour - see if you can spot dolphins and whales frolicking in the water.
Head up the iconic Skytower for huge views of the city and beyond. At 328 metres high, it's the tallest structure in New Zealand.
In the evening, enjoy a romantic dining experience in the Viaduct, Wynyard Quarter or Britomart, where you'll find a large selection of delicious eateries.

Day 2 - Collect your rental car and drive from Auckland to Hamilton via Hobbiton
Today we will head to Hobbiton and experience the real Middle-earth™ at the Hobbiton™ Movie Set, where, in the heart of the Waikato region, you can step into the lush pastures of the Shire™, as seen in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies.
Fall in love with the Alexander family sheep farm, just as acclaimed director Sir Peter Jackson did, as you journey through the unequivocal beauty of the land, with the mighty Kaimai Ranges towering in the distance. Your guide will then escort you around the set, showing the intricate detailing, pointing out the most famous locations and explaining how the movie magic was made.

Day 3 - Waitomo Caves
Drive to Waitomo Caves is a village on the North Island of New Zealand. It’s known for its extensive underground cave systems. Thousands of glow-worms light up the Glowworm Caves. The vast Ruakuri Cave features waterfalls and limestone formations.
In the afternoon head to Hamilton airport to catch a flight to Wellington

Day 4 - Explore the capital of New Zealand Wellington
Wellington is New Zealand’s movie-production hub, home to Weta Workshop and Weta Cave. All the post-production for The Hobbit trilogy took place here. The city also has a buzzing cultural and theatre scene with plenty of live music venues to check out.
Head to The Weta Cave shop is a must-see for film buffs and lovers of cool stuff. See authentic Weta-designed collectibles, prop replicas, books, jewellery, art prints, gifts, apparel and movie memorabilia.

Day 5 - Wellington to Nelson
From Wellington, catch the ferry to Picton and collect your rental car before making your way to nearby Nelson. Known as the sunniest region in New Zealand, there's plenty to do here, as well as some fascinating filming locations to explore.
It's known for local arts and crafts stores, and art galleries. It's also a popular base for nearby caving sites, vineyards and Abel Tasman National Park.

Day 6 - Discover Nelson Region
Get up early for a full day Abel Tasman cruise and wine tour departing at 7.30am from Nelson. The driver will pick you up at your accommodation.

Day 9 - Wanaka to Glenorchy
Drive to the picturesque village of Glenorchy, a true slice of New Zealand paradise that the area is home to many movies including of course New Zealand’s greatest export – the Lord of the Rings, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, The Water Horse, both The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian.
While you're here, don't miss a short hike or horse trek along the trails that lace the surrounding area.
