Day 1 - Arrive Christchurch airport transfer to your accommodation

Spend the first day of your journey exploring the fast-changing and funky city of Christchurch, South Island's largest city. Old English gardens contrast with pop-up bars and innovative precincts in this enduring center. Favorite activities include punting down the Avon River, biking in the Port Hills, visiting Sumner Beach, or taking a day trip out to the French colonial settlement of Akaroa. Day 2- Christchurch - Greymouth via Arthurs Pass

Drive across the stunning Southern Alps to discover the untouched beauty of the West Coast. Castle Hill is on the main road (just before Arthurs Pass) between Christchurch and Greymouth / the West Coast. The car park is right next to the main road and you could have a quick walk around and be back on the road in 30 – 40 minutes. This area has recently seen more visitors, as nearby Flock Hill station was used for the filming of the climactic battle scenes of the 2005 movie, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Along the way take time to visit Arthur's Pass National Park, where you will discover beautiful beech forests, cheeky wildlife and dramatic landscapes. Day 3 - Greymouth, Punakaiki

Greymouth is rich with gold mining history and a center for pounamu (New Zealand jade), with many specialist art galleries. Is the largest town on the West Coast and known for its awesome seascapes. Popular activities here include local brewery tours, gold rush history at Shantytown Heritage Park and the spectacular West Coast Wilderness cycle trail. There are plenty of places to stop along the way, visit Paparoa National Park, explore stunning limestone caves in Charleston, or take a walk to Punakaiki's bizarre pancake rocks and booming blowholes. Day 4 - Hokitika Gorge

Start your day walking through Hokitika Gorge, enjoy this short walk along the stunning Hokitika Gorge and the pristine mature podocarp forest of the Hokitika Scenic Reserve. Enjoy an exhilarating treetop adventure among temperate rainforest giants. Experience life with birds high in the ancient Rimu and Kamahi tree canopy. Day 5, 6 - Franz Josef Glacier and Fox Glacier

Head south down the Great Coast Road, one of the Top 10 Coastal Drives in the world according to Lonely Planet. Travel alongside ancient limestone cliffs, rivers, glowworm caves, mining heritage and untamed native forest to glacier country. Fox and Franz Josef are New Zealand's most accessible glaciers. Easy walking trails to the glacier's terminal face pass through scarred ancient valleys dotted with moraines. For the ultimate view, take a scenic heli-flight or ski plane to the glacier's top. Don’t forget to see Lake Matheson is a small glacial lake in South Westland, New Zealand, near the township of Fox Glacier. It was a traditional mahinga kai for local Māori. Day 7 - Fox Glacier to Wanaka

Head inland past waterfalls and river scenery as you leave the coast, taking a break to explore the Haast River Valley on a guided safari before heading to the lakeside resort town of Wanaka. Combining small town tranquility with exciting outdoor adventure, Wanaka is a great place to visit any time of year. In winter, skiers and snowboarders head to Cardrona and Treble Cone ski fields. Day 8, 9 - Queenstown

Day 13, 14 - Lake Tekapo (Farmstay at Sawdon Station)
