Day 1 - Arrive Wellington airport transfer to your accommodation

As New Zealand’s capital, Wellington is rich in political history. Explore Te Papa, a fascinating museum in New Zealand's capital. Head to Weta Workshop in the afternoon and begin your journey through the movie-magic world of Weta Workshop! learn about props, costumes and creatures created for your favourite films. Interact with cool stuff from our creative departments and catch an artist at work on our tour stage.

Day 2 - Wellington to Nelson

Catch a ferry to the South Island. The passage across Cook Strait and through the Marlborough Sounds is one of the most scenic ferry trips in the world, along the way you'll see the Red Rocks seal colony, Tory Channel, Cook’s Lookout and the beautiful coves of the sounds. From Picton travel on to Nelson, one of New Zealand's sunniest towns and home to a fascinating community of winemakers, craft breweries and art lovers. From here, you can organise yourself an eco-adventure or check out the local creative culture.

Day 3 - Nelson to Westport

Westport is a coastal town located on the banks of the Buller River. It has a small town New Zealand flavour and parochial spirit that makes the locals immensely proud of their region. Continue driving to Cape Foulwind beginning from the Tauranga Bay car park, follow the easy walking path to the fur seal breeding colony, where you can see seals at any time of year. From the seal colony follow the track along the coastal bluffs to the Cape Foulwind lighthouse. Along the way interpretation panels give a flavour of the region's history, with stories of early explorers and industries. Head to Greymouth in the afternoon.

Day 4 - Greymouth, Punakaiki

There are plenty of places to stop along the way, visit Paparoa National Park, explore stunning limestone caves in Charleston, or take a walk to Punakaiki's bizarre pancake rocks and booming blowholes. Dating back 30 million years, these rock formations are created by layers of limestone overlaid with rock and clay. Greymouth is the largest town on the West Coast and known for its awesome seascapes. Popular activities here include local brewery tours, gold rush history at Shantytown Heritage Park and the spectacular West Coast Wilderness cycle trail.

Day 5 - Hokitika Gorge

Start your day walking through Hokitika Gorge, enjoy this short walk along the stunning Hokitika Gorge and the pristine mature podocarp forest of the Hokitika Scenic Reserve. Enjoy an exhilarating treetop adventure among temperate rainforest giants. Experience life with birds high in the ancient Rimu and Kamahi tree canopy. Day 6 - Castle Hill, Franz Josef Glacier

Drive to Castle before heading to Franz Josef. Castle Hill is on the main road (just before Arthurs Pass) between Christchurch and Greymouth / the West Coast. The car park is right next to the main road and you could have a quick walk around and be back on the road in 30 – 40 minutes. This area has recently seen more visitors, as nearby Flock Hill station was used for the filming of the climactic battle scenes of the 2005 movie, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Head to Franz Josef and enjoy SCENIC CRUISE discover the true beauty of the West Coast in a personalized cruise on Lake Mapourika.  The Jurassic rainforest fringed bays which reflect the surrounding Alps and Glaciers will leave you in awe of its beauty.

Day 7 - Fox Glacier

Experience the sheer size and vast beauty of the Fox Glacier on heli hiking tours. Don’t forget to see Lake Matheson is a small glacial lake in South Westland, New Zealand, near the township of Fox Glacier. It was a traditional mahinga kai for local Māori. An easy walking track circles the lake, which is famous for its reflected views of Aoraki / Mount Cook and Mount Tasman.

Day 8 - From Fox Glacier to Wanaka

Day 9 - Wanaka to Queenstown

Today you'll journey to Queenstown, New Zealand's most popular tourist destination. Here you can choose from a huge range of adrenaline activities, from jet-boating and bungy jumping to white-water rafting and skydiving. Explore the stunning mountain scenery by bike, kayak, horse, 4WD Safari, or foot along one of the region's many hiking trails. Get on board the TSS Earnslaw cruise to Walter Peak Station and enjoy a quintessential Kiwi experience – a delicious gourmet BBQ buffet meal and a farm demonstration in a stunning lakeside setting. Day 10 - Explore Arrowtown and Glenorchy

Visit nearby Arrowtown and learn about the town's fascinating gold-mining history. A highlight is the Chinese miners' village, with its restored shelters offering a glimpse into early development in this area. Film lovers might like to check out Glenorchy, where Peter Jackson filmed some of the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies.

Relax and rejuvenate at the Onsen hot pool in the afternoon.
